High-manganese steel, a traditional wear-resistant material, exhibits an austenitic microstructure during use. Under conditions of intense impact and compressive loads, High-manganese steel castings The surface undergoes work hardening, increasing its hardness from an initial approximately 200 HBS to over 500 HBW, while the core of the casting retains excellent toughness. This unique microstructure enables the formation of a hard, wear-resistant outer layer on the surface, while the interior maintains high ductility and outstanding resistance to fracture—making it highly suitable for applications in impact and abrasive wear resistance.

 High-manganese steel raw materials

To further enhance High-manganese steel castings Duma Machinery Company has conducted extensive research in areas such as alloying, microalloying, carbon-manganese content adjustment, and precipitation hardening treatments. Based on Mn13 steel, Duma successfully developed a new high-manganese alloy steel by optimizing its composition and incorporating appropriate amounts of alloying elements—such as chromium—as well as innovative microalloy additives. Following precipitation-hardened heat treatment, Duma thoroughly analyzed the alloy's microstructure and mechanical properties.

The research results indicate that, after precipitation-strengthening heat treatment, the austenitic grains of the new high-manganese alloy castings were refined, and carbides were uniformly precipitated, significantly enhancing the material's wear resistance and work-hardening capability. These optimized High-manganese steel castings It demonstrates significantly superior performance in wear resistance, impact resistance, and long-term reliability, making it suitable for even more demanding working environments.
