Therefore, in production practice, the specific material and structural design of liners to be selected must be rationally matched to the particular operating conditions at any given time and place.In China, high-manganese steel liners for ball mills have gradually been replaced by medium-alloy steel liners. However, as medium-alloy steel liners continue to gain widespread adoption in ball mill applications, they have progressively overtaken manganese steel and other types of liners, becoming the mainstream choice in the market. In addition to protecting the mill shell, liner plates also influence the motion patterns of the grinding media. To meet the requirements of various operating conditions—whether coarse crushing or fine grinding—the shapes and materials of the liners differ accordingly. When the primary function is coarse crushing, the liners must provide strong lifting action for the grinding media while also exhibiting excellent impact resistance.
