Therefore, in production practice, the specific material and structural design of liners to be selected must be rationally matched according to the particular operating conditions and local circumstances.In China, high-manganese steel liners for ball mills have gradually been replaced by medium-alloy steel liners. As medium-alloy steel liners continue to gain wider adoption in ball mill applications, they have progressively overtaken manganese steel and other types of liners, becoming the mainstream choice in the market. In addition to protecting the mill shell, the lining plates also influence the motion patterns of the grinding media. To meet the requirements of various operating conditions—whether coarse crushing or fine grinding—the shapes and materials of these lining plates differ accordingly. When the primary function is coarse crushing, the lining plates must provide strong lifting action on the grinding media while also exhibiting excellent impact resistance.
